Waiting for Bardo(t)

In Waiting for Bardo(t), two young women, Jaja and LiLi, find themselves entangled in Godot, Bardot, the bardo and butoh, as they search for the ineffable.

Lost and Found

Each moment reveals us to be simultaneously lost and found. This dance explores notions of loss and discovery, attachment and impermanence, presence, and the experience of time.

No Exit

In Jean Paul Sartre’s play, No Exit, three strangers are condemned to hell, a small sitting room with a locked door. Fujiwara’s adaptation tells the story in behaviour rather than words, with pathos, pathology, wit and whimsy, exemplifying Sartre’s proposition, “Hell is other people”.

Komachi

Komachi is a dance inspired by a number of famous Noh plays written about the legendary Japanese poet, Ono no Komachi.

Conference of the Birds

Conference of the Birds is inspired by the ancient Sufi epic poem by Farid Ud-Din Attar.

Sumida River

A contemporary interpretation of the renowned 15th century Noh play Sumidagawa by Motomasa, choreographed by Natsu Nakajima.
