Eve Goldberg

With Fujiwara Dance: Moving Parts

Imagine a kitchen party where Mother Maybelle Carter, Ella Fitzgerald, Mississippi John Hurt, Bessie Smith, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Patsy Cline show up, and you begin to get a sense of what it feels like inside musician Eve Goldberg’s head. For over 30 years, Eve has performed her trademark mixture of folk, blues, country, bluegrass, old time, and jazz in venues ranging from small house concerts to the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

Eve’s performances are uplifting, intimate and relaxed, and her watercolour voice and solid instrumental style (guitar, ukulele) has become a favourite at festivals, folk clubs, and concert series across Canada and the US. Along the way she’s earned the respect of legendary musicians like Peggy Seeger, Geoff Muldaur, and Penny Lang. She has released three CDs and is currently a member of the folk/roots duo Gathering Sparks.

When she is not performing, Eve teaches music to adults in community settings. She currently teaches online ukulele and guitar classes from her home studio and leads the Ukulele Orchestra of Toronto (Ukes of T). She has performed and taught all over North America including the Port Townsend Ukulele Festival (WA), James Hill Ukulele Institute (BC and ON), Strathmore UkeFest (MD), Midwest Ukulele Camp (MI), and the Haliburton School of Art and Design (ON). She is thrilled to be part of “Moving Parts.”
